Our Spotlight Author for August 2005

Dear Readers,

What a powerful set of words Dear reader is. They represent the crossover into professionalism. You’re the audience authors hope to captivate, the multitude we have dreamed of reaching. But for you, there would be no stories to tell, or a reason to tell them.

So, hello, dear reader. It’s wonderful to finally meet you. Pull up a chair and get comfy. There’s so much I’ve wanted to share with you. When I was a little girl I use to pretend that you were sitting beside me, listening while I spun stories of puppies and fairies. Oh yes, they were silly and overly dramatic, but you laughed, cried, and gasped with surprise at just the right times. I knew then that half the wonder of telling stories was having people to share them with.

Now, many years later, (and that’s a whole bunch of manys) Romance Readers At Heart has given me the honor and the opportunity to tell you about my first novel Lord Of Desire. Set just before the Battle of Hastings, it’s the tale of Lord Brand the Passionate, a Norman warrior betrayed and wounded by love. And Lady Brynna Dumont, a spirited, Saxon beauty who will stop at nothing to bring out the passion in him and lay claim to his heart.

Dear reader, I hope you will pick up a copy of Lord Of Desire. You won’t find puppies or fairies in its pages, (though you might find a few fairies in a future story) but if you’re inclined to laugh, cry, or gasp with surprise, I’d love to hear from you again. Until next time…
